Project #4 is a project to modify and refurbish a 1950's M100 1/2 ton Jeep Trailer to store and transport my camping equipment to make it easier to go on my hiking and camping adventures... I will be working on this when I have time between other projects and adventures.. Complete brake and wheel bearing replacement and new tires last year.
Dec. 17th - Disassembly started. (You are right - I am not doing a 100% disassembly) Dec. 18th - Sandblasting and priming parts has started. Dec. 19th - Started painting parts. - Krylon Semi-Flat Black I am moving away from this project for a while. Waiting on parts and tools. I will get back to it after the first of the year and after I get a few other things done.... Project #3 is replacing my battery operated single smoke/CO Detector with hard wired (battery backup) smoke/CO Detectors. One in each of the three bedrooms and one in the main hallway. All interconnected to each other so when one goes off they all go off....
Project #2 is repair of the farm storage building doors. This building was built 20-years ago and the doors are showing signs of decay from weather and lack of maintenance... There are double doors on this building. I will be replacing the decayed wood, caulking the seams and joints and refreshing the paint. I will also be modifying the lock system on the door to make it a little more secure. The door panels are HardiePanel siding so no rot there... Both doors have been repaired and reinstalled. This Spring I will touch up the paint on the entire building.
Project completed.... Dec. 6, 2016 |
AuthorSteve Chapman (68 yoa) Welcome to my Retirement Journal. A little about myself: I was married to my high school sweetheart for almost 29 years. I have been a widower since 2008.
I worked for the City of Chickasha for over 38 years and held a variety of jobs for them during that time. I retired as the Parks and Recreation Director on January 6, 2017. Now that I have retired I will be working on the many projects that I have been putting off. I will also be deciding where I will live in retirement. I am not sure I want to stay in Chickasha. I do plan on traveling and doing a lot of hiking, kayaking, backpacking, camping, hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities as well as volunteer work during my retirement... ![]() New Hiking Buddy!
